The European Social Fund is a key financial instrument of the European Union. The communications activities of the ESF therefore always have the following goals:
- identifying funding from the ESF;
- increasing public awareness of the ESF;
- conveying the added value of EU subsidies and the European Union, and
- presenting specific examples of ESF investments in Austria to a broad public.
All of the projects and plans financed by the ESF are therefore subject to certain obligations in the field of public relations work.
An overview of these obligations can be found in the Manual of Information and Publicity Regulations (pdf).
The ESF managing authority provides a template for the obligatory A3 poster (docx). The template can be employed in its current state by the project organisers or simply used as an orientation aid.
The ESF logo
The ESF logo consists of the most important graphic symbol of the EU: the EU emblem (flag). The ESF logo consisting of the EU emblem with the wording EUROPEAN UNION written in full and with the name of the fund, the European Social Fund, is used in all visual forms of publicity and information.
